Jane Benston

Hi there, I'm Jane.

I’m a leadership coach and career growth expert for mid-life professional women who want to step up to the next level of leadership – without burning out or selling out.

I know the challenge women face at this stage of their career very well, both personally and professionally.

Earlier in my corporate career, a restructure placed me in a role that no longer fit. On the surface, everything looked fine. In reality, I felt disconnected from work that had once energised me and began questioning assumptions I’d long held about success, leadership, and what it meant to keep progressing.


That experience became a turning point. I realised that pushing harder wasn’t the answer – and that navigating this stage of leadership requires space, perspective, and support. I invested deeply in my own development, working with coaches and studying leadership, human behaviour, and what genuinely sustains confidence, clarity, and impact over the long term.

Since then, I’ve worked with hundreds of professional women who are capable, experienced, and carrying significant responsibility – women who are ready to expand how they lead without burning out or starting again from scratch.


My work is grounded in a clear belief: mid-life professional women don’t need fixing, reinventing, or more to do. What does need to change is how time, energy, and experience are used – and how leadership is shaped at this stage.

Why is it only for women? I don't need another feel-good women's empowerment lecture...

It is undeniable that women's experience in leadership is not the same as men's. That's why I've created a safe container to talk about those unique challenges. But this is not some rah-rah "yay the ladies" knitting circle. We are a diverse group of engaged, intelligent, ambitious, supportive leaders – who happen to be women too.

I can just do my company's in-house training. How is The Leadership Connection different?

There are many great programs being offered by organisations and if you are lucky enough to be invited to participate, I’d encourage you to snap up the opportunity. But here’s how The Leadership Connection is different.

It’s 100% independent so we’ll focus on what you need, not what your organisations needs. You’ll share the experience with women from outside your organisation allowing you to be open vulnerable and without judgement.

And we’ll be going beyond the strategy and practical focus that's common in many corporate workshops and diving deep into the barriers and self-sabotaging behaviours that might be holding you back too.

What if I'm already too busy?

Group coaching isn't for me, can I get more 1:1 time with Jane?

The VIP membership includes monthly 1:1 calls with Jane. However, we encourage you to challenge the idea that you won't benefit from group coaching – because our TLC participants have experienced the opposite!

Are Retreats included in my membership?

Yes! Both the standard and VIP memberships include attendance at our Retreats. Please note though that travel and accommodation for in-person Retreats is not included in your membership fee.
